About Jeffrey R. Manning Sr.

Most recently a Managing Director with CohnReznick Capital based in the Baltimore office, Jeff Manning’s broad resume features activities in investment banking, loan workout, operating restructuring, value investing, bankruptcy advising, and loan trading. Jeff’s expertise has gotten him recognition as “Outstanding Investment Banker” by Turnaround and Restructuring Magazine over several years, and he is one of the few investment bankers with a Certified Turnaround Professional designation.  TMA has designated him as a Subject Matter Expert is two areas -- §363 Sales and Valuation in Bankruptcy.

Prior to joining CohnReznick Capital, Jeff was a managing director at BDO Capital Advisors. He served previously as the Chief Executive Officer of FTI’s wholly-owned investment banking subsidiary. He also led the special situations practice at several Wall Street firms, including Legg Mason and Rodman & Renshaw. Prior to that, Jeff worked for S.N. Phelps & Co., a well-known Greenwich, CT based “vulture investor.” Early in his career, he focused on operating restructuring for Dun & Bradstreet and worked in the “special loans” group at Manufacturers Hanover Trust. Relying on his network of consultants, Jeff Manning can muster CROs, Financial Advisors, Forensic Accountants, supplementing his investment banking focus and experience.

Jeff earned an MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. from Yale University. He is a frequent speaker at industry and university events at Columbia School of Business, the Darden School at UVA, and other prestigious institutions. A published poet, he regularly contributes thought leadership articles to TMA, ABI, and the National Law Journal. He authored a chapter for the Thomson Reuters Inside the Minds: Avoiding Financial Trouble, and Thoughts on the Future entitled “Saving Technology and Service Companies from Chapter 11.”
